I Dream Tree

"The I Dream Tree" was installed in the Parkland Community Garden in Louisville, KY  in the summer of 2015. It was sponsored by the Center for Neighborhoods through their P.A.I.N.T. project in partnership with Councilwoman Attica Scott, Metro Council District 1, and PNIA and PCG. It is a collaboration between Linda Erzinger, Sabra Crockett, The Parkland Boys and Girls Club, The Parkland Scholar House, Parkland Community Garden, Parkland Neighborhood Improvement Association, Bridge Kids, Metro Housing Resource Center, Brandeis Elementary, Maupin Elementary, The West End School, Central High School, Youth Build Louisville, The West End School.

This sculptural tree was created with reclaimed materials of wood, vinyl siding, paint and muslin. The tree has four different components written by community members: I Am, I Can, I Will, and I Dream. The tree was chosen as a symbol of growth, family and community. Residents of all ages took part the completing this project.
